Ghana Picks 3 Awards At West Africa EY Enterpreneur Awards

Ghana took away three awards at this year’s West African edition of the Ernst and Young (EY) World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards held in Lagos, Nigeria on Friday night February 5, 2016.

Two of the awards were competed for whilst the third one was a Lifetime Achievement Award conferred on Sir Sam Jonah.

The Founder and Managing Director of Kinapharma and Healthilife, Mr Kofi Nsiah-Poku beat four other Nigerians in the Emerging Enterpreneur Category.

In the Master Entrepreneur category, Dr Kwabena Adjei, Founder and Chairman of Kasapreko Limited topped the field of one other Ghanaian, Mr Edmund Poku, Managing Director of Niche Cocoa Processing and two other Nigerian finalists.

Sir Sam Jonah received a Lifetime Achievement Award, making it a total of three awards for Ghana.

The World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award programme was created by EY to recognize the accomplishments of entrepreneurs around the globe.

It builds on EY’s many years of success in running Entrepreneur Of The Year Award programmes in more than 60 countries around the world.

Each year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners join together in Monaco to be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame and vie for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year title.

The programme aims at recognising the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs by identifying and recognising their outstanding achievements within successful growing of dynamic businesses.
