The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists ‘ Association (GJA), has passed a vote of no confidence in Listowell Yesu Bukarson, who happened to be the chairman of the chapter.
This was at an emergency meeting held on 30 November, 2015 and the decision strips him of being the chairman.
The decision to pass a vote of no confidence in him stemmed from:
1.His continued recalcitrance to hold himself as Regional chairman after the national executive asked him to step aside when he tainted himself politically after contesting for the Builsa North parliamentary seat in the Upper East Region, during the primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This posturing compromised his political neutrality as a leader of such a noble Association.
2. Listowell is not a team player, has no respect for other executive members as he had been taking personal decisions to run the association.
3. He has shamefully declined to discharge his obligations to the Association by not paying his dues since 2013.
4. He has been soliciting funds in the name of GJA to run programs without the consent of other executive members.
The Regional Chapter would like to remind the general public, that the directive by the national executive to ask the Regional vice chair, Elizabeth Kankam-Boadu, to act as the Chair still holds
We wish to inform corporate bodies and other institutions not to deal with Listowell as the Regional GJA chair.
Attached are the signatories of members present.
