Today,we  shine the spotlight on NAYAH FYAH.

 

Popularly known in the Reggae Dancehall fraternity as Nayah Fyah,  he was born Ventuol Danduke [Forkor Nayah] in Kumasi on 25th January 1983 to Mr  and Mrs Yunus; Islamic converts.

His music inclination started from infancy through his great Uncle,who played the xylophone and sang traditional and cultural songs. Nayah Fayah was essentially born into a family of griots.

He attended Kaneshie Methodist Cluster of Schools in Accra and Kaneshie 2 Junior Secondary School, where he was at one point the Senior Boys Prefect. He later went on to O’Reilly Secondary School for the next phase of his education.

As a General Arts student at this school, he had his first ever shot at a stage performance after writing a song for his mate who didn’t have the courage to perform on the school’s Entertainment Day.

Nayah grew up listening to HighLife, Reggae/Dancehall and Hip hop music. His love and interest in Reggae Dancehall however grew as he got older and so did his ambition to write,sing and perform his own songs. Listening to Reggae icons like Bob Marley Peter Tosh Midnite -Akae Beka, Buju Banton, Capleton, Sizza and Bounty Killer taught him the power and the potency of the honorable genre. The hotfiring  artist tells Ghnewsnow he is also inspired by new generation artist like Chronixx, Protoje and Kabaka Pyramid.

He takes a stance as Rastafari. He is a business man /farmer and a Reggae Dancehall artist.His name Nayah Fyah was inspired by the “nyahbinghi warriors” in Rastafari.

 

A phenomenal Reggae Dancehall artist with vocal dexterity and an irie touch of lyrical rascality in his songs at times Nayah Fyah has a strong unique voice and reciprocal energy to deliver both on stage and as a recording artist.

After nurturing his singing talent through sound system and live band music performances throughout the capital city, Accra and around Ghana he finally mustered the courage to step forward as a full fledged artist.

He started his music career around early 2010, cutting his teeth by performing with Black Waves International Sounds system at several venues and appearing alongside Taking Over Band for live gigs in different parts of Accra.

Since stepping forward, Nayah Fyah has shared the stage with A-list Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artists as well as several international acts like Osagyefo, Paapa Wastik, Konkarah Jahvybz, Jah Turban, Roots By Nature etc.

Officially signed to Sound-fiction Production [Germany] he had his first Album Signed & Sealed  released under the above label and Undomiel Arts in the year 2012.

The album features eleven songs like ‘I Will Be Coming For You’ which has accumulated over 21,000 views and ‘Love Jah’ which has over 8,000 views on YouTube. Other songs like ‘Obahemaa’, ‘Wages’ and ‘Injustice’ also are some of his other songs that are gaining traction with both older and younger generations of listeners.

On the strength of the album Nayah Fyah embarked on a European tour, hitting Germany and Switzerland with performances and radio promotions in the year 2013.

Nayah Fyah is now an independent artist with his second project I-THENTIC FYAH ALBUM out under the label I-Thentic Fyah Records. Released on 22nd February 2020, the album features Konkarah Jahvybz on the single “Give Them Reggae” a hard-core Reggae song for the young and the old to skank and sing along.

The I-Thentic Fyah Album is distributed by Apprise Music and is available on all Major Digital Music distribution platforms such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube etc…

The album has two official music videos out now. The hit song “Jah Sun Shine ” Prod By Nana Crown [Crownzy Beatz] and the lovers rock “Kiss For Prize” Prod By Kushites Music UK are  all on YouTube already accumulating views. Songs like “Stay Alive” Classical Wenzy Production,”Cant Stop Rasta” Rod By Oga Chux, Pon A Mission ” Prod By IBeeOnDeBeatz are also rapidly gaining air plays around Africa, the UK, USA and Europe.

He is a sincere conscious and a revolutionary artist spreading an authentic message of inspiration, encouragement strength and endurance as well as love and life experiences in general. His music aims to share his insights and his opinions about living harmoniously amongst humanity and nature, no matter race gender or creed; a message of universal love to bring oneness to humanity.
