The Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has charged new Sports Writers Association Of Ghana’s( SWAG) President Kwabena Yeboah to help resurrect the falling standard of sports in the country.
According to His Royal Majesty, sports can never be without the contribution of the sports writers and so the president should bring all on board to help the industry.

Otumfour further stressed that football should not be the only sports that the writers should concentrate on but rather on all the other sporting disciplines.
“I remember those days of Alice Annum, Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey and co it was refreshing to watch Ghana at the Olympics but today we don’t even qualify all because of over concentration on football to the detriment of the other sporting disciplines so Kwabena you have to make sure your and your comrades give other sporting disciplines more coverage like football” Otumfour said.
“If you fail you name will be called so do what whatever you can do to help resurrect the falling standard. I know you can do it since you are already in the field and I know that SIC will help you to accomplish what you want to do Otumfour stressed further.
His royal majesty also appealed to the sports writers to to talk more on SIC products and insurance policies so people will buy into them for SIC to get enough funds to help SWAG all the time
The Asantehene made this clarion call when the new SWAG President and his entourage together with SIC paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace last week Friday.
The courtesy call was made by SWAG and SIC to invite Otumfour to the SWAG Cup match which will be played between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Goldfields at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium come this Sunday.
