Asawase Murder: 2 NPP Constituency Executives Remanded
An Asokwa Magistrate Court in Kumasi presided over his Worship Korkor Owusu Achaw has remanded three New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the Asawase constituency in the Ashanti Region into prison custody to reappear on November 24, 2015.
The suspects including 2 constituency executives, Osman Issah the constituency organizer, Hajia Gariba deputy women’s organizer and Alhassan Issah a staunch supporter were alleged to have played various roles in the murder of a 37-year old Saddiq Abubakar .
They have been provisionally charged for conspiracy and murder and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Counsel for the accused persons, Owusu Sekyere request for bail was denied by the court after the Prosecutor Superintendent Emmanuel Akonor told the Court, the accused persons if released could interfere with police investigations.
The court accordingly upheld the request of the prosecutor and remanded the three into prison custody until the next adjournment date.
The case of the other 3 suspects including the constituency Chairman Isaac Brenya, ghnewsnews gathered is still under police investigations as a result, they were not brought before court on Tuesday.
