Police Investigate Mob Attack On Suspected Robbers At Manso Dadiese

Police in the Amansie West District have commenced investigations into circumstances surrounding the death of two persons suspected to be robbers at Manso Dadiese a known Galamsey community in the district.

Superintendent Daniel Kwabena Amoako of the Manso Nkwanta police station, who confirmed this to ultimate1069.com, disclosed that he is uncertain if the deceased persons are indeed robbers as claimed by locals.

According to him, the area is noted for illegal mining activities thereby attracting several people from different parts of the region and it is possible the two gentlemen could have been victims of circumstance.

He disclosed that the charred bodies of the two have since been deposited at the Agroyesum St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital morgue while efforts are underway to contact their relations.

It will be recalled that residents this dawn lynched and set ablaze two suspected armed robbers at Manso Dadiese in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

The suspects in their mid 30s it is alleged had gone to the community to rob residents but met fierce resistance from community members who complained of constant harassment by robbers.

An eyewitness who spoke to ultimate1069.com disclosed that at about 2 am, the robbers descended on the town heavily armed to rob residents and started firing warning shots indiscriminately to scare their victims.

A resident who has been robbed severally also mustered courage and return fire which saw the robbers fleeing from the community after an alarm was raised attracting other residents.

Moments later, two of them returned claiming they were coming to pick their sandals but upon interrogation, it was realized that they were two of four suspected robbers who had earlier been chased out.

According to them, they were residents of Tafo in Kumasi and were subjected to severe beatings by the angry residents who later set them on fire.

Manso Dadiese residents have consistently complained of constant harassment by robbers in the area indicating that the police themselves are helpless considering the distance between Manso the district capital and the community.
