Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Yammin says the current Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Peter Anarfi Mensah who is contesting the Ahafo Ano North NDC Parliamentary primaries come November 7, 2015, will lose miserably to the incumbent MP; Hon. Akwasi Adusei.
Hon. Yammin, who is also former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister said on Bekwai based DESS FM , that he has been to Tepa to talk to the delegates to vote for the incumbent MP, Hon. Akwasi Adusei which he believes will lead to the miserable defeat of the Ashanti Regional Minister.
“I have been to Tepa myself to talk to the delegates to vote for Hon. Akwasi Adusei because he toiled seriously to claim the seat for the NDC. It is because the Tepa seat has become attractive that is why Hon. Peter Anarfi Mensah is going for it.
But I tell him he will lose and lose miserably. A time came when NDC as a party needed someone to claim the seat from the NPP and no one showed up. It took Hon. Adusei to sacrifice his life to claim the seat for the party.
Why does he want to contest him at this time he has to enjoy the fruits of his labour? If he were to be from Bekwai Constituency, would he go for the seat? No, because he knows he will lose. The one who advised him on that decision has given him a wrong advice.”
Meanwhile, Hon. Yammin says he is not against Mr. Anarfi as the Minister but he is against the decision to contest the Ahafo Ano North seat.
He revealed that he played an integral role in bringing Hon. Anarfi to the Ashanti Region. “I am not against him as the regional Minister but rather his decision to contest the Tepa seat.
You will remember I was part of those who championed for Mr. Anarfi to become the regional minister. If he loses, it will be a disgrace to those of us who promoted him to be on that seat”.
