Another Explosion Rocks Jos

-Police sources have confirmed that at least three people have been killed with another three injured as yet another bomb exploded in the Nigerian city of Jos; Plateau State. The explosion happened around 21.30 hrs local time (20.30GMT) at a spot where dozens of people had gathered to watch the European Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

This is the third explosion in a week in the beleaguered city. Last week, two explosions at the Terminus Market killed 118 people and injured another 100.
Eyewitnesses told ghnewsnow that the explosion which occurred along Bauchi Road near the University of Jos,was loud and could be heard several miles away.
According to Manzo Ezekiel, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), it is not clear what caused the blast at this point even though Islamist militant group Boko Haram remain the prime suspects. Mr. Ezekiel also told reporters that the death toll can also not be confirmed yet.

There is a reported panic as rescuers thread cautiously unsure whether another bomb will go off as happened in last week’s incident.

Boko Haram, believed to have links to Al-Qaeda is fighting to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria and has recently heightened their nefarious activities including the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls from the northern town of Chibok. American troops among other international interventionists are currently on the ground in Nigeria to help flush out the militant group but they seem to get bolder by the day.
