1 Dead In New Dawhenya Gas Station Explosion

A victim of a fire outbreak at the Runnel Fuel Station at New Dawhenya in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region has died.
 Anthony Ahiabor,aged 47,the deceased was in one of the offices within the premises of Runnel Fuel Station when the explosion occured at about 5:30am Tuesday.
The cause of the fire is yet to be discovered as the fire management team of the Ghana National Fire service (GNFS) has begun its investigations in the explosion.
The Officer of operations at the Tema Regional Fire Command, DOII William Blankson said personnel from the Devtraco and Tema Industrial Area Fire stations moved rapidly to control the fire from extending to other parts at the facility.
He said the fire service personnel were able to bring the fire to control at about 7:14 am
Some workers at the facility think the fire might have been caused by cooking activity in one of the offices which serves as a staff room for the staff.

Some of the staff alleged that the deceased was cooking in one of the rooms at a time LPG was being discharged into a reservoir in the compound of the facility.
