Lawyer Boafo Leads Kotoko Legal Team


The management setup of Kotoko headed by Executive Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei continues to take shape as refine legal practitioner, Lawyer Yaw Acheampong Boafo has been added to the four appointments that were made late last week.

Head of Communications, Obed Acheampong disclosed this to Asantekotokosc in a brief chat on Wednesday evening. A letter confirming Lawyer Boafo’s appointment said, he has been “assigned” to head the club’s legal team.

This brings to five the number of personalities picked by the Executive Chairman to help him administer the club. Last week, Dr. Kyei announced the appointment of Ernest Owusu Ansah alias P-Jay as the Operations Director.

He as well picked Thomas Boakye Agyeman as the Accra Representative and Premier League Board member. Also on that list were Rose Padmore Yeboah – Administrative Manager and Obed Acheampong, Head of Communications.

The list of appointees, Asantekotokosc, understands is expected to be sent to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) this week as the club updates its records with the football association.

Undoubtedly, one of the finest young lawyers around, Yaw Boafo was a member of the Sylvester Asare Owusu administration, which led Kotoko to its first Premier League triumph in ten years in 2003.

Besides his sound legal background, Yaw Boafo has loads of experience in media practice. He was a broadcast journalist at Kapital Radio, Kumasi.

He is the son of former Member of Parliament for Subin and Ashanti Regional Minister, S. K. Boafo, who served under ex-President Kufour’s administration.
