Sports Minister Behaves like A “Serial Caller” – GFA Boss

Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi has slammed Sports Minister, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije describing his criticism of the Ghana Premier league and actions of the association as one of a ‘serial caller’.

The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency has in recent times criticized the Ghana Premier league as being unattractive because of the absence of a title sponsor.

But speaking on the Morning Starr, Mr. Nyantakyi called on the minister to invite the Association for a meeting to address issues concerning the league and the FA instead of using the media.

“Have I said anything negative about the ministry or minister?…No I haven’t…he has said negative things publicly and even if they were [true], as a collaborator of the FA nothing prevents him from inviting the Association to a meeting to discuss them.

“That’s the approach and that shows maturity and professionalism…when you take your problems out without any effort to solve them it shows a certain amateurism which I don’t think is the case.” he stated.

Mr. Nyantakyi who also questioned the involvement of government in the local league added “the question is that, what has government been doing to help?…that’s what I expect the minister to be doing and not criticize the league without facts like a serial caller.”

“I think we must be serious and adopt a professional approach to our analysis of issues and churn out facts so people can make their own judgment.”
