Photos: Final Funeral Rites For Mahama’s Mother

The final funeral rites for the mother of President John Mahama was held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra Saturday.

The late Hajia Abiba Nnaba died on the 14th of June, 2016 and was buried the same day at Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region in line with Islamic tradition.

Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and his wife, Matilda, former Presidents Rawlings and Kufuor, Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, former First Lady Ernestina Naadu Mills, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah were present to commiserate with the President.

Others at the forecourt of the Banquet Hall included MPs, MMDCEs, past and serving heads of the Security Services, flagbearers and leadership of the political parties, the Clergy, traditional authorities, the Diplomatic Corps and a cross-section of the public.

Presidents Faure Gnassingbe of Togo and Mahamadu Yusufu of Niger sent delegations to the funeral to commiserate with their Ghanaian counterpart.

She was 85 years.
