Two students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are on admission at the university’s hospital in Kumasi after they were stabbed in a clash between students of the Katanga and Unity halls of the university.

Students from the two rival male halls were reported to have engaged in a brawl on Sunday night resulting in two students getting stabbed.

About Twenty students who sustained various degrees of injuries have been treated and discharged from the KNUST hospital.

It is unclear what sparked the brawl but the two halls have a long running history of rivalry that has resulted in violent clashes in the past.

Three years ago, one of the students lost an eyeball from such skirmishes.

School authorities are tight-lipped about the situation.
