In its quest to promote health delivery, Ideal Finance has disclosed plans of renovating one of the maternity blocks at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region.
To help decongest the maternity wards, the Ideal finance donated GHC20,000.00 to settle medical bills of patients who cannot afford their bills.
Naval Captain Rtd Kojo Butah, Board Chairman of the growing financial institution in Accra announced this in Kumasi over the weekend in Kumasi.
Congestion in the maternity wards has been identified as one of the major challenges facing the premier hospital due to patients’ inability to afford their medical bills after going through medical treatment.
Due to financial constraints, most of the patients are not able to fulfil their medical obligations.
The Ideal Finance Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nii Kotei Dzana indicated congestion in the various wards put economic burden on the hospital.
‘As part of our values, each and every day we find means of getting to those who need our help so that we can extend some level of support to them. We are entering into the Kumasi market and we find it necessary to reach out to those who need help and support them. We also have an intention to adopt and renovate a maternity ward. Just this week, we were in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to pay bills of discharged patients who were occupying space because they couldn’t pay their bills,’ he explained.
