KATH Secures New Elevator Machines From Government

Management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region has taken delivery of 8 brand new heavy duty elevators to replace dilapidated elevators in the facility.

The hospital took the delivery late last year from the government after the hospital’s Chief Executive Dr. Josephe Akpaloo made an appeal to President John Mahama to replace the obsolete elevators.

Pregnant women who attend ante-natal had to struggle up and down on the six lifts daily due to a breakdown of the elevator at the maternity block of the hospital.

The new machines are expected to take ease the burdens and other struggles patients go through to access medical care when installation works are completed.

‘After years of pleas the hospital finally took delivery of 8 brand new heavy duty lifts, to replace the existing over 20 year old obsolete old ones, which are being dismantled to make way for the installations of the new ones.  I will indulge with hospitals’ staff to support the technical team as they begin installations works to have it perfectly done and on time so that it will be a benefit to us as early as possible,’ he

The CEO of the hospital hinted that they will be introducing Biometric register as a means to check indiscipline among hospital staff.
