Efforts To Secure Partnership With Arsenal And Liverpool Thwarted By Bad Press- Togbe Afede

Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak Togbe Afede XIV says his plans to secure a partnership with English giants Arsenal and Liverpool are being frustrated by bad publicity of the club.

Some disgruntled fans of the Phobians are demanding the immediate dissolution of the board over claims they have been incompetent throughout their five-year reign.

The supporters group called Project Phobia took issues with the board over the poor performance of the team in the Ghana Premier League having escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth last season.

However in a response to the attempts to have his administration ousted Togbe Afede XIV says his efforts to build a competitive worldwide brand for the club is being thwarted by the negative publicity.

The traditional Ruler of the Asogli State in the Volta Region went on to reveal at the club’s Annual General Meeting of his inability to strike a partnership agreement with English giants Arsenal and Liverpool due to the constant negative tag on the club.

“I am trying to introduce Accra Hearts of Oak to Arsenal and Liverpool but look at our position on the league table?” he quizzed at the club’s gathering of shareholders on Wednesday.

“Look at the bad news that Arsenal will read about Accra Hearts of Oak, likewise Liverpool.

“It will be difficult for me to go back again and talk.”
