The Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) is soliciting the support of the Former President Jerry John Rawlings for the immediate compilation of new voters register ahead of the 2016 General Elections.
Leadership of the group on Wednesday held separate meetings with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) founder and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to put a case on the need for a new voters register.
Leading Member of the group and National Youth Organizer of the Peoples National Convention, Abu Ramadan who spoke to ultimate1069.com, described the meeting as successful and expressed hope that the former president will support the fight by the group for a new register.

“Everyone in this country admits the register has a lot of discrepancies and going to an election with such a register is a recipe for violence”. He observed.
According to him, the call for a new register is non-negotiable considering the negative repercussions of the current register which if allowed to be used for the 2016 General Elections could threaten the peace the nation is currently enjoying.
Mr. Ramadan explained that it was to avert looming chaos during elections the group has decided to hold meetings with stakeholders to state their case in order for them to see reason for their demand.
“As I speak to you, we will be meeting with former President John Agyekum Kufuor as well and other people who matter in the democracy of this country to explain to them why we have taken up this task”.
He was reluctant in disclosing to ultimate1069.com if the group will embark on its planned demonstration to picket at the offices of the Electoral Commission.
“We shall announce that later after our interaction with the elders of the country which is currently ongoing”
