E/R :Goats And Sheep thieves Sentenced 8 Years

 

The Akyem Kwarbeng District Magistrate Court in the Eastern Region Presided over by His Worship Isaac Kwaku Amoah has sentenced four persons to prison for stealing 14 live goats,5 live sheep,and three slaughtered sheep.The convicts are,Asiedu Yaw, 37,driver, Emmanuel Mensah,22, Emmanuel Boakye,28, and Abubakari Isaka,both traders in Accra.
They have been slapped with two years imprisonment each.The four convicts,were arrested by the Anyinam Police Night Patrol team,during its snap check duty at around 3:30 am on August 14,2015,stopped an Uvan Bus with Registration Number,GW 1793-z which was heading from Anyinam to Kwarbeng and on board by the four convicted persons.

A search by the Police found in the Vehicle,14 live goats ,5 live sheep and 3 slaughtered sheep.
The Police officers on duty arrested  the suspects and upon further interrogation,they admitted stealing the goats and sheeps in Asamankese,Kade,Abodam,Pramkese,Kwarbeng and were heading to Anyinam.

The convicts,during their arrest,offered GHC200 bribe to the Police which was rejected.They were charged with conspiracy to commit crime,Abetment of crime and Stealing.
