NPP-USA Endorses Akufo Addo Ahead Of Primaries

As Ghana’s  largest opposition party, the New Patriotic Party prepares to elect its candidate for the country’s 2016 presidential election, the campaign of front-runner Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo received a boost.

Referred to as ‘Super Delegates’, members of the National Executive Committee and Chairpersons for the 20 NPP-USA Chapters voted in a special exercise to add their tally to the general primaries to be held in Ghana on Sunday.

The exercise which was conducted online and supervised by the commenced on Saturday, August 16, 2014; ending on Monday, August 25, 2014 @ 12 midnight EST.

At the tallying, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo obtained 96.67% of the valid votes cast to win all the three delegates votes of NPP-USA. The first runner-up, Mr. Alan Kyerematen obtained 3.33% of the valid votes while the five other aspirants had zero percent (0%) each. The other aspirants are r. Francis Addai Nimo, Mr. Joe Ghartey, Mr. Asamoah Boateng, Mr. Osei Ameyaw  and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku

Mr. Kyerematen won one Chapter of NPP-USA while Nana Akuffo Addo won the rest of the Chapters making him the substantive winner to receive all of the NPP-USA delegates votes.
