As part of efforts towards restoring and sustaining patriotic interest, nationalism and integrity among the youth, the National Youth Authority (NYA) of Ghana has announced a series of lectures to take place in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale. Dubbed the National Youth Patriotism Lecture series (2014), this would be the maiden edition and is slated to take place on Monday, 30th June, 2014 at 10: 00 am.
The forum, which will be chaired by the Kumbung Naa, Abu Iddrisu will also be addressed by Prof. Agyemang Badu Akosa, former Director -General of the Ghana Health Service, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya – Board Chairman, Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO), Mrs. Angelina Mona Domakyaareh- Board Chairperson of the Savannah Accelerated Development Agency (SADA) and Dr. Edward N. Gyader; a medical practitioner and a member of the Council of State.
The lecture will take place at the Academic Board Room Auditorium, of the University of Development Studies in Tamale.
According to the Chairman of the National Youth Authority, Ras Mubarak, there will also be another leg of the lectures to be held in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi on the 4th of July, 2014. He said the Kumasi leg will come off at the Faculty of Law Auditorium, of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and will be chaired by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, King of Ashanti. Speakers include Nana Kobina Nketsia V- King of the Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper and Nana Ato Dadzie, former Chief Of Staff and Legal Practitioner.
Mr. Mubarak said the lectures are aimed at reviving a spirit of nationalism and patriotism in the youth of Ghana; something he says is vital to the development journey of the country. He said the series reflect a non-partisan cast that should hopefully drive home the message that Ghana needs everyone from every political influence to fulfill it’s development agenda.
